Description: I am a maker of quilts and fiber artist who loves to work with a variety of textiles. I work intuitively and am inspired by people, nature, and my faith. I am often playfully spontaneous in my creations prompted by social events and when a certain theme, like “faces” is presented. Elements of design that appeal to me include color, embellishments, embroidery and mixing old and new. I also enjoy traditional quilting, the building of quilts block by block. The face I chose to make is entitled “Phebe Sunshine”. “Sunshine” is a nickname that I gave my daughter Phebe. When she was a child, I would often sing these two songs to her. “Good morning Phebe sunshine, how did you wake so soon, you frightened all the stars away and shined away the moon.” (Ambrose) and… “You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are gray, you’ll never know dear, how much I love you, please don’t take my sunshine away.”
